Granite
Sync and offline

How does sync work?

Every change reaches your other devices within seconds, as plain Markdown files.

When you change a note, Granite sends the change to its servers, encrypted, and your other devices get it within seconds. You don't press a save or sync button: it happens as you type.

  • What syncs: notes, folders, attachments, canvases, and renames and deletes.
  • What it looks like: notes stay plain Markdown files, so what syncs is exactly what you wrote.
  • Every change is kept: each sync is a version you can go back to in version history.

To push changes right away, for example before closing a laptop, run "Sync now" from the command palette.

In the desktop app, each vault is a real folder in Documents/Granite. Vaults from your account sync into it in the background.
