How do daily notes work?

Click the calendar button to open today's note, a dated page for journaling, tasks, and quick capture.

A daily note is one note per day, named with the date. It's a good home for a journal, a to-do list, or anything you jot down during the day.

  • Click the calendar button next to New note, or run "Open today's daily note" from the command palette.
  • If today's note doesn't exist yet, Granite creates it. Otherwise it opens the one you already have.
  • Daily notes go in the Daily notes folder. Change it in Vault settings → Daily notes folder.
  • A template named Daily in your templates folder is used for every new daily note.

Integrations can write to today's note too: send daily Call the bank to Granite in Telegram or Slack and it's added to today's page. See chat commands.
