How do I connect Claude?
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, and enter https://mcp.granite.md/mcp. Sign in to Granite in the window that opens, choose what Claude may do and which vaults it may use, and approve.
How do I connect Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http granite https://mcp.granite.md/mcp, then sign in to Granite when asked.
How do I connect ChatGPT, Cursor, or another tool?
Add https://mcp.granite.md/mcp as a remote MCP server in the tool, sign in to Granite, and choose which vaults it may use and what it may do. This works with any tool that supports MCP, including ChatGPT connectors, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, and Zed. Setup steps for each are in Connect AI tools.
How do I control what an AI tool can see and do?
When you connect a tool, you pick its vaults and whether it may only read or also write. Change or revoke access at any time in Settings → AI tools. In a workspace, admins can also set policies for every member's tools.
Can an AI tool delete my notes?
Only if you give it write access. Write tools are off unless you allow them and the workspace policy permits it, deletes are soft, and every change is a version you can restore.
Can AI tools use my notes offline?
Yes, with the local MCP server. It reads Markdown files in a folder on your computer and works without the internet. Run granite mcp --vault ~/Notes, and point your AI tool at it. It's included on every plan, including Free.
Which plans include AI features?
The local MCP server is on every plan. The remote MCP server and the AI knowledge base are included in Pro and Business at no extra cost. You use your own AI tool under its own subscription.
Are my notes used to train AI?
No. Granite never uses your notes to train AI models and does not run an AI model of its own. A connected tool receives only the passages it asks for, from the vaults you allowed.
